Index sector movers
The Index overview now features a new "Sectors" tab visualising which sector is moving the index with its respective contribution.
This quickly provides insight into how different indices react to and beyond global macro movements given their exposure across sectors.
In the example below, we see the DAX index heavily influenced by the German industrial sector whereas the IT sector partially counters that effect.
In contrast, the financial sector is the top positive mover on the Stockholm OMX 30 Index and IT as a strong number three.
In other words, we have opposite findings on sector movers for Frankfurt DAX vs Stockholm OMXS30 which is valuable insight for exposure and diversification.
The sector data is based on GICS level 1 data, and the bar diagram represent intraday market cap points as a weighted contribution to the total points the Index moves which is ultimately represented as % change.
For further analysis on sectors and individual stocks, the Index constituents offer a more granular view where sectors can be sorted and filtered further.
